the Twist Oil & Natural Gas Museum is sited in the middle of Germany’s most extensive mineral oil fields. Seen from the outside it looks just like any of the traditionally-built houses round about. The interior design for this technical museum was conceived by a professional designer. In about 600 m² of broad, well-lit space it presents its clearly-arranged exhibits on two levels. The upper gallery can be used for special exhibitions. In the outdoor area around the museum large pieces of equipment used in the production of mineral oil and natural gas are set out for viewing. The museum has a lecture room with media presentation facilities and a specialist library. It is equipped for use by the disabled.

Opening hours are
Tuesday and Thursday  from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m.,                                                                                        
Wednesday, Friday to Sunday  from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.                                                                                                           Monday and on public holidays closed.
